# Equip your coding agent to use open source right

Your agent writes the integration, investigates failures, and updates dependencies. GitHits gives it the code, documentation, and package details to check its decisions against the actual libraries and versions your app uses.

## Your agent may know the library by name, but not the API in the version you use

Ask your agent to add a feature and it may use an API from another release. Ask it to fix an error and the cause may be inside a dependency it hasn't read. A new library may be missing from its training entirely.

Your repository alone can't answer those questions. Your agent needs to inspect the open source your application runs on.

## Delegate dependency work with confidence

* **Let your agent work with unfamiliar libraries.** It can find real implementations and evaluate a package's license, dependencies, and known vulnerabilities.
* **Keep its decisions tied to your app's versions.** Your agent can check the actual APIs and implementation when integrating a library, debugging it, or preparing an upgrade.
* **Know why your agent made a change.** You can review the code and documentation it checked, alongside its changes and test results.

## Your agent upgrades the framework; you review the result

Connect GitHits through the CLI or MCP, then ask your agent to upgrade your app's web framework. It can check release changes and dependency requirements, read the APIs your app calls in both versions, and update the affected code.

If a test fails, it can investigate the framework's implementation. You review the changes and test results in your existing development workflow.
